Chelsea has tactically improved since the firing of Frank Lampard. They are now unbeaten in their last 12 matches in all competition. The blues won 2-0 over the Toffees to tightens up their grip in the champions league qualification.
Ben Godfrey handed the lead to Chelsea in the first half, scores an unlucky own goal as he deflects a shot into his own net.
Marcos Alonso late first half effort was brilliantly intercepted by a defender. He could also have doubled the lead in the 51st minute but Pickford put up a stunning save to avert the danger.
Jorginho doubles the lead, scores from a penalty spot 10minutes after the VAR disallowed Kai Havertz goal due to a handball in the buildup.
Carlos Ancelotti’s Everton only had a shot on target, it was Chelsea who could have scored more but Jordan Pickford did well to deny the third goal that could have come from both Timo Werner and N’Golo Kante effort.
Chelsea remain fourth in the Premier League table with 50 points, followed by Everton who are four points behind, but have one game outstanding.
